A kaleidoscope of Art and Craft with a variety of style, colour, shape and texture, from local artists Christine Fletcher and Barbara Hobbis.

Margaret Deans lives on the edge of West Cornwall where land meets sea. The changing light is an endless fascination which fuels her painting. ‘Colour is my primary focus and I am exploring levels of abstraction. I feel that I can get nearer to the essence of the place if I leave something unsaid’. A group of watercolours and oils are shown which explore the relationship between light, colour and varying degrees of abstraction.

George Willoughby is an artist who works mainly in a realistic/impressionistic manner mostly in the medium of oil but with some exploration into watercolour and printmaking. Having started painting during a holiday in France some 20 years ago and the odd evening class George then moved on to a more formal art training by attending adult education classes to gain an Advanced VCE IN Art and Design. This included 12 modules within the art and design criteria giving a good practical grounding to proceed to develop his own style in his passion for the landscape.

This exhibition shows the two artists contrasting and diverse response to the landscape of Cornwall and beyond.
