28 July 2007:

The Regatta this year was a wet but very happy occasion. Despite heavy rain, hundreds still turned up to watch the fun and take part. A new event, the rescue of drowning people by Newfoundland Dogs was particularly enjoyed by the crowds. ‘Takings are understandably down this year because of the weather’ said Jeff Meadows the Chairman of the Regatta Committee, ‘but the sense of community was fantastic and all the rowing and swimming races were fully subscribed.’

Plans are already underway for next year’s Regatta on Saturday 2nd August 2008. ‘Let’s hope that we get better weather!’ said Jeff.
